William Ruto's Early Life
William Ruto was born on December 21, 1966, in Rift Valley
province, Sambut village, Kamagut, Uasin Gishu County, to Daniel Cheruiyot
(father) and Sarah Cheruiyot (mother). Ruto grew up in a rural area, herding and attending local schools. His family had nothing to meet their daily
needs, forcing him to sell chickens and groundnuts along the Nakuru-Eldoret
road, helping his parents meet their daily needs.
